Carson City Fire Department was called Tuesday afternoon to a structure fire at a retirement community apartment complex in the 1100 block of East Long Street.
The call came into dispatch shortly before 4 p.m. regarding a fire that was burning inside a unit. Apartment staff had residents begin to evacuate.
Multiple fire units arrived on scene and the fire was quickly extinguished. All residents were allowed back into their units at 4:10 p.m. and Long Street, which was closed off, was reopened to motorists.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
