Families from around the region converged on Mills Park in Carson City Saturday afternoon for the second annual Northern Nevada Family Fun Day, a family-friendly venue featuring games, activities, music and food.

The day-long extravaganza, which opened at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, features crazy bull competitions, bubble blowing stations, vivid face paintings, a pirate express, bounce houses, demonstrations, cold water dunk tanks, hamster ball races, a Velcro wall, Sumo suits, shopping areas, raffle ticket giveaways, train rides, and mega meltdown obstacle courses, among other activities.

Admission to the event is free, but some activities require a nominal fee. The fun continues all afternoon Saturday until 6 p.m.

Northern Nevada Family Fun Day is a fundraising benefit for Faith Hope Love of Northern Nevada and The Esperanza Foundation. These organizations help to provide needy families and the homeless with food, clothing and hygiene products.
