Carson City courthouse staff heeded to a fire alarm Wednesday, leaving the Musser Street building after light smoke from lint in a laundry facility triggered an alarm at around 4:32 p.m., fire officials report.

The jail was not evacuated because there wasn’t a fire, said Carson City Fire Chief Stacey Giomi. Courthouse staff evacuated the building because there was a fire alarm, but no evacuation was ordered, said Giomi. City workers returned to the building at around 4:45 p.m.
