A 48-year-old Reno man was arrested Monday for suspicion of DUI, open container in a vehicle and operating a vehicle without registration, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
At 6:45 p.m. a CCSO deputy responded to the 3700 block of South Carson Street for a report of a man drinking in the driver’s seat of his vehicle and yelling at someone on the phone. The vehicle was described as having no license plates.
Deputies arrived and located the suspect vehicle driving out of the parking lot and starting to travel eastbound on Koontz Lane. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, in which the deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The deputy asked the man to provide his registration, driver’s license and proof of insurance. The man provided insurance but no proof of registration and did not have his license in possession, the report states.
As the deputy spoke, they could smell an odor of alcohol on the man’s breath. The deputy asked if he had been drinking. The man stated he had a drink with his friend. An open can of Bud Light beer was found on the passenger seat.
The man agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .098 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI, open container and no valid registration. At jail he provided two evidentiary breath tests of .092 and .102. Bail: $1,719.
In other arrests:
— A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday for violation of probation conditions. According to the booking report, deputies responded to a residence for a domestic dispute in which the woman was breaking items in an apartment and acting erratic after consuming alcohol.
She provided a preliminary breath test of .146, a violation of Department of Alternative Sentencing conditions. Bail: $3,000 cash.
