A rollover accident Tuesday night at Highway 395 and Washoe Road in Douglas County sent a Carson City family of four to the hospital, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The accident was reported at around 7:45 p.m. According to NHP Trooper Dave Gibson, a white 1999 Lincoln Navigator driven by Anthony Robert Diaz Sr. of Carson City attempted to make a left turn onto Washoe Road from northbound Highway 395, when the vehicle went down the embankment, rolling and coming to rest on its wheels.
Diaz Sr., 38, and passenger Blanca Elizabeth Munguia-Diaz, 34, were flown by Care Flight with major non-life threatening injuries. The two male children, ages 12 and 2, were taken by ground ambulance to Carson Tahoe Hospital with minor injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. It is also unknown if the driver and passengers were wearing safety belts.
