The smoke that was so thick in Carson City early Saturday had cleared out by late afternoon. But its ominous presence could still be seen to the north-northwest of the Nevada state capital as the sun set Saturday night.
As of early Sunday morning, the air appeared mostly clear and smoke had not yet settled back into the Eagle Valley as originally forecast.
