UPDATE: Two people were flown by air ambulance following a head-on injury crash Sunday night on US-50 between Glenbrook Road and State Route 28, west of the Spooner Lake Recreation Area. Driver impairment is suspected as a factor, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Two people with serious injuries were taken by air ambulances to a local area hospital. One person was taken by ground ambulance to local area hospitals with unknown injuries.
US-50 eastbound and westbound is reduced to one travel lane, traffic is being controlled by first responders on-scene. Lane closures will be adjusted as needed to facilitate the crash investigation and clearing of the crash scene, according to NHP.

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision Sunday night at US-50 in the eastbound lane east of Cave Rock at Lake Tahoe that forced the closure of the roadway in both directions, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. There are reports of multiple injuries.
Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and NHP responded to the scene and gave aid to those injured. The collision involves a SUV and sedan, according to NHP. It was reported at 7:25 p.m.
It is unknown at this time how many injuries, but at least one person was flown by air ambulance and three additional ground ambulances were called to the scene, according to NHP.
