Smoke settled into Carson City Saturday with a thick haze surrounding the Eagle Valley.

The smoke has drifted into the state capital from multiple wild fires burning north of Reno.

As these fires continue to burn, the National Weather Service forecasts smoke is likely to be thickest in the late evenings and early mornings when the air is most still.

The air quality index is currently moderate, so persons with sensitivity to smoke should avoid heavy exertion or prolonged exposure outside while the smoke is present.
