A large crowd gathers Thursday for the final reception of the Always Lost: A Meditation on War exhibit at Western Nevada College in Carson City. The event was also held as a celebration of life for exhibit co-founder Marilee Swirczek, who died July 17.
The photo exhibit, which opened at WNC in 2009, memorializes the sacrifices of U.S. military veterans and their families.

In the second photo, the crowd gathers and in the third photo, Veterans Resource Center Coordinator Kevin Burns speaks at the celebration of the life for Swirczek, along with Amy Roby, exhibit manager.

In the final photo, Joe Paslov and his daughter Adeline, 6, look at the exhibit.
