UPDATE: Per incident command, there are no threats to structures.

UPDATE: East Fork Fire and surrounding fire districts were called Sunday evening to a wildland fire burning south of Gardnerville.

According to Pulse Point, the vegetation fire was reported at 6:50 p.m. at 877 Leviathan Mine Road, with some reports saying its near the Nevada-California border in Douglas County. Reports via radio traffic is the fire is spotting ahead of itself.

There have also been reports of lightning strikes in the area.

Eastern Sierra Fire and Ice, which tracks wildfires in the region, reports air attacks were made and the fire is 5 to 8 acres. Carson City Fire Department has also been called to respond.

No word yet if structures are threatened. We will update as more information becomes available.
