Following several months of planning, organizing and fundraising, the 2017 Carson City Fair commenced Wednesday at Fuji Park in South Carson City.

A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday afternoon with Reno Aces mascot Archie helping to dedicate this year’s fair.

The carnival opened softly Wednesday evening, too, while livestock weigh-ins and check-ins introduced the fair’s main agricultural attractions.

The Carson City Fair runs now through Sunday with a full schedule of events, exhibits and live shows.
