Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development

New local resources for California companies exploring expansion or relocation to Nevada are now available in the San Francisco Bay Area and Orange County, the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) announced today.

GOED has retained James Renzas and John Schuetz, principals in The RSH Group business consulting firm, to provide information and initial assistance to California companies interested in Nevada opportunities. Renzas is based in Mountain View, Calif., and Schuetz in Irvine, Calif.

“Both the state office and the regional development authorities are receiving an increasing number of inquiries from California companies because of the weak economic times and Nevada’s historically lower tax and business cost advantages,” said Michael Skaggs, Carson City-based deputy director of GOED. “Having local representatives to answer initial questions about the business climate and resources available in Nevada helps us connect early with companies that are seeking opportunities for expansion and relocation.”

“Nevada is a natural choice for California companies because of its proximity,” said Schuetz. “It provides easy logistics to California markets and ports, eliminates state corporate and personal income taxes, reduces workman’s compensation premiums, and lowers overall operational costs.”
