The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency has added two experienced staff members to key positions who will help keep the agency on course to build the partnerships needed to deliver environmental gains and to raise the focus on efficiency and community engagement.
Ed Gurowitz, a management and organizational consultant from Incline Village, NV, has been hired as the TRPA’s Interim Chief Operating Officer (COO). The COO is responsible for implementing the Strategic Plan adopted last year. The plan focuses TRPA’s internal operation around building partnerships, environmental gain, improving operational efficiency, streamlining processes and enhancing community engagement.
Gurowitz was selected from a field of more than 150 applicants because of his 20-plus years of professional experience as a leader in organizational transformation, including work for Fortune 100 companies like IBM. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Doctorate in Psychology.
Kristi Boosman joins the award-winning TRPA Communications Team as the Public Information Officer. Boosman is a policy researcher and public communications consultant from Central Washington with 15 years’ experience. Her work includes creating local and national public awareness and community outreach campaigns for PBS station KCTS in Seattle, WA. Boosman has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
“We are pleased to be able to fill these positions with people as highly qualified as Ed and Kristi,” TRPA Executive Director Joanne Marchetta said. “TRPA is making fundamental changes in the way we lead the restoration of Lake Tahoe and we welcome them to our committed team of people working to advance our goals.”
The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency cooperatively leads the effort to preserve, restore, and enhance the unique natural and human environment of the Lake Tahoe Region now and in the future.
