Organizers of the annual Taste of Downtown in Carson City anticipated another sell-out year in 2018, and if the crowds along North Carson Street Saturday night were any indication, they may be right.

Official numbers won’t be available for several weeks following the conclusion of Saturday night’s annual event, the flagship fundraiser for Advocates to End Domestic Violence (AEDV), a Carson City-based 501(c)3 registered non-profit devoted to ending domestic abuse and operating an emergency shelter for victims.

But Taste of Downtown usually sells out of its maximum 2,000 tickets that are sold either in advance or the day of the event. Thousands more show up just for the experience, including live entertainment, music and an all-around good time.

This year marked the 25th anniversary of Taste of Downtown, and a quarter century milestone of raising funds to support victims of domestic violence.
