Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called Friday afternoon to a structure fire in the 2300 block of Star Way in east Carson City.

Multiple 911 calls came into dispatch at around 12:10 p.m., where a fence and shed were reportedly on fire with the threat of flames moving to a residence.

Arriving firefighters on scene reported an active fire on a fence and shed that was moving to a carport. A Carson City Fire Department battalion chief on scene reports the fire was knocked down at 12:16 p.m. One person was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

Motorists are advised to stay clear of the area. Traffic is being re-directed around the residential street.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
