Smiles, giggles and tale wags were abundant at the Carson City Library Saturday afternoon for Love on a Leash, an event for kids to read to therapy dogs and get a free book.

Therapy dog owners and trainers brought their dogs to be cuddled and read to. Kids chose from a variety of picture books to read to the dogs and received a sticker and a free book for their help. Love on a Leash gave children an opportunity to practice reading aloud and gave the dogs love and attention.

The next Love on a Leash event is Saturday, August 15, 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Carson City Library.
