A 33-year-old man was arrested early Saturday for suspicion of felony burglary and misdemeanor possession of stolen property after he allegedly stole a generator from a home under construction, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
Following an investigation, Ajae Monterious Miller, listed as a Reno resident, was taken into custody at 12:37 a.m. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatch at 11:45 p.m. July 11 to a burglary report in the 1200 block of Crain Street.
Deputies were advised by the reporting party they had a “notice of motion” in a house they are building at the Crain Street address and further advised that when they looked at the camera on their phone they saw two people walking away with their generator.
The reporting party advised they had video of the subjects, which deputies reviewed, that showed suspect clothing and other descriptive information. As a deputy was looking at cameras, another deputy advised they were at a convenience store on Highway 50 East on an unrelated larceny report and saw two people at the store who matched the description of the suspects.
The investigating deputy was able to get photos of the two people via video and the two were a positive match. Both were detained. The two were both read their Miranda warning and both agreed to speak, the report states.
The deputy at the convenience store advised to the investigating deputy that Miller had admitted to taking the generator. The deputy also saw the generator in the back of the vehicle that Miller had been in. The female said they were just looking at the house and she had no clue that he was taking the generator, the report states.
The deputy investigating the burglary spoke with Miller, who said they were just looking at the house and he thought he would play a prank on the builders and take the generator, the report states. The suspect said he was going to take it back the following day. He then told the deputy he thought it was a gas can and then laughed.
Miller was informed he was being arrested for suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property. The generator was removed from his vehicle and released to the victims. Bail: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— A 65-year-old Carson City man, Lawson McCullah, was arrested July 11 for suspicion of felony inference of burglary and misdemeanor DUI. According to the booking report, a deputy was dispatched to an East Park Street address for a report of a prowler trying to enter a residence.
Deputies arrived on scene and contacted the reporting party who stated a man, later identified as McCullah, was trying to enter the house. As the deputy was speaking with the reporting party, the suspect was trying to enter the house, the report states.
Deputies walked inside and noticed the man standing at the back door, looking in through the window saying “let me in,” the report states.
A deputy went to the back of the house to make contact with McCullah, however, the man had made it inside the house where he was met by a deputy. The man had pushed the door open and entered through the laundry room to the home, according to the report.
Deputies could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He was handcuffed and placed into custody for suspicion of felony inference of burglary with intent.
A witness nearby was interviewed who stated they walked outside to receive some items when a blue truck pulled up and parked at 9:30 p.m. They saw the suspect get out of the driver’s seat, stumbling. The man walked over to the witness, said hello and used his truck for support to stand. The witness said the suspect then walked away and used a fence for support to stand before going into the backyard of a nearby residence.
The witness provided a statement and deputies called for a tow truck to tow the suspect’s vehicle. Meanwhile the suspect was taken to jail, where he performed standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests, saying he didn’t want to take some of them. He provided a preliminary breath test of .197. He consented to evidentiary breath tests, with results of .195 and .185. Bail: $20,000.
— A 27-year-old inmate at Carson City jail, Carson Yeaman, was booked July 11 for suspicion of felony battery by a prisoner.
According to the booking report, Yeaman allegedly confronted a Carson City Jail inmate, saying he was upset with him being too loud. The victim inmate said he tried to calm the man down and advised to move cells. He said Yeaman didn’t want to move cells, then became aggressive, yelling at him near his face saying he was keeping him up all night and being loud.
The victim stated Yeaman threw his property and when he got up to press the cell intercom, Yeaman grabbed him on the back left side from his hair and was spitting in his face while cursing at him, the report states. The victim inmate advised the man was “ripping” his hair out and then stopped once he discovered deputies were on their way to the cell. The victim inmate said he did not fight back, according to the report, and that he had not had any prior trouble with Yeaman.
A jail deputy interviewed Yeaman, where it was discovered he had thrown his fecal matter on the cell camera and had covered up the cell window with his uniform pants. The deputy attempted to get his attention to read him his Miranda rights. Yeaman became uncooperative and started yelling and challenging the jail deputy to come into the cell and fight. Due to the man being uncooperative, the deputy was unable to complete reading Yeaman his Miranda rights and concluded the investigation.
The deputy reviewed surveillance, where at 5:54 a.m., the altercation was in MG 206 seen through the cell window. Due to the altercation being inside the cell, the deputy was unable to see specifically what happened. Based on the investigation, the deputy booked Yeaman for alleged battery by a prisoner. Bail: $20,000.
— A 62-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday for suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the booking report, deputies were dispatched at 4:28 p.m. to the 300 block of B Street for a domestic dispute. A deputy who arrived on scene saw a woman shove her husband and detained the woman to separate the parties involved.
Speaking with the woman, the deputy could smell alcohol coming from her person. She advised she had two alcoholic beverages that day. She advised she had an argument with the man and shoved him. She then spontaneously uttered that she would shove him again, the report states.
Deputies interviewed the man, who denied medical attention. The man advised it was just a verbal argument until the woman shoved him. He advised she was upset and started an argument with him because the dishes were dirty. He stated it was just a verbal argument until he and she went outside, where she shoved him while the argument was happening. He advised she was under the influence of alcoholic beverages, the report states.
She was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery. She provided a partial preliminary breath test of .106. Bail: $3,137.
— A 30-year-old Citrus Heights, Calif., man was arrested July 12, 12:11 a.m. for misdemeanor Department of Alternative Sentencing violation, consuming alcohol. He provided a preliminary breath test of .138, a violation of his DAS conditions. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail July 11 for a misdemeanor contempt of court bench warrant issued out of Washoe County. No bail hold in lieu of hearing.
— A 43-year-old man was booked at Carson City Jail on July 11 for a misdemeanor domestic battery warrant issued July 11, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 61-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 11 for misdemeanor Department of Alternative Sentencing violation and driving during DUI revocation period. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 39-year-old Dayton man was arrested July 11 for a misdemeanor warrant alleging obstruction issued July 9, 2025 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500 cash.
— A 58-year-old Concord, Calif. man was arrested July 13 for misdemeanor DUI. According to the booking report a deputy conducted a traffic stop for a motorist failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and no visible license plate.
The deputy made contact with the driver and could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. The deputy also observed multiple empty Mickey’s beer containers on the passenger side floorboard and a marijuana pipe on the passenger seat, the report states.
The man initially stated he had drank some beers earlier in the day but nothing recent. He later said he had just drank a beer prior to being pulled over. He agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment on the tests. He provided a preliminary breath test of .153 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI. He submitted to an evidentiary blood test. Bail: $1,137.
– A 33-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction and violation of a temporary protection order. Bail: $2,500.
— A 32-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 13 for violation of a suspended sentence, consuming alcohol, for which he had a “no alcohol” clause through the Department of Alternative Sentencing. Bail: $1,000 cash.
