There was not a dry eye at Mills Park on Saturday night during the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Luminaria ceremony.

The Luminaria Ceremony is a time during the relay to remember the loved ones we have lost to cancer, to support loved ones who are currently batteling cancer and to honor people who have fought and beat cancer in the past. This ceremony of silence provides an opportunity for people to remember their loved ones and to work through their grief. The Carson City ceremony gives an opportunity to those who have lost friends and family to cancer to also find hope.

The Carson City Relay for Life ended at midnight. Go here for story and photos of the event from earlier in the day.
