
The Flash Flood Warning for the Carson City and Dayton areas has expired. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. tonight.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 4 p.m. for Carson City, north central Douglas County and Lyon County. This includes Dayton, Johnson Lane, Indian Hills, the Carson City Airport, Stewart Indian School, Highway 50 through Carson City and Dayton, Rawe Peak and Dayton Valley Airpark, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
A strong thunderstorm with lightning and heavy rain has developed south of Dayton, according to the National Weather Service. At 1:42 p.m. Doppler Radar was tracking the thunderstorm across Rawe Peak southeast of Carson City moving northwest at 5 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 miles per hour are possible with this storm as well as heavy rain and lightning. Go here for a special Weather Statement.
