Carson City Fire Department, sheriff’s deputies and Care Flight were called Thursday evening to an overturned vehicle in the Ash Canyon area.

The incident happened before 8 p.m. and involved a vehicle that had overturned around 3 miles up in the canyon above the water tank off of a trailhead. One person was injured and stuck, but not trapped, inside the vehicle because it had overturned.

A Care Flight helicopter was called to respond as the terrain was difficult to access. Carson City Fire Department personnel reached the injured man who had non life-threatening injuries, according to Carson City dispatch.

The patient was transported out of the canyon via Care Flight and flown to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center.
