July will be a very busy month at the Carson Mall in Carson City with two new restaurants moving in, two other businesses changing locations, along with a complete repainting of the exterior and an extension of the patio area by Paradise Cove Cafe.
Busy Bee Eatery will be moving from their current location on Winnie Lane to the mall in July, taking over the old deli space on the Carson Street side of the mall. The restaurant features Mexican, Italian and American food, and offers customers the option of dining in, or purchasing pre-made meals that can be prepared at home.
Thai Thai will be moving into Stewart Street side of the mall where the old L&L Hawaiian Barbeque restaurant was, bringing a different dining choice to the mall that is home to seven eateries.
Alie’s Flowers is also in the process of moving to a new space a couple of doors down from their present location on the Carson Street side of the mall. Owner Catherine Trainer said the old location was too big for what they needed, and the new space will be easier to manage.
Home Treasures had the opposite need, and will be relocating to the bigger Alie’s space in July also.
The outside of the mall will begin to get a facelift as well, as repainting will begin next week, according to local mall manager Kevin Ray.
“We just got finished picking the new color schemes, and it’s going to look great,” Ray said.
Another outside addition will be the expansion of the patio in front of Paradise Cove Cafe, which Ray said will give the restaurant a much better outdoor dining space.
In August, Ray said that JoAnn Fabrics will be doing an extensive remodel as well.
“It’s an exciting time for us,” Ray said.
Ray said the changes are in part to help them fix the lingering problem of the empty anchor store space.
Ray said they have more parties looking at the place, and want to make everything look a good as they can.
