If you enjoy hiking around Lake Tahoe, you’ll want to meet popular local author and guide Tim Hauserman at Browsers Corner Book Store this Friday, May 20.
Tim Hauserman has been writing about travel, recreation, free range parenting and the lure of danger since 2002. He hikes, bikes, kayaks, snowshoes and cross country skis. Tim shares his knowledge of and experience in the Tahoe area with his readers through his articles and books.
You may already be familiar with Tim’s official guidebook Tahoe Rim Trail, first published 23 years ago and endorsed by the Tahoe Rim Trail Association. The 4th edition of this guidebook tells you all you need to know before you hit the trail. It also gives you a heads up on the geography of the area as well as the plants, animals and turns in the weather you might experience. Tim has fully completed the TRT four times.
Tim’s humorous look at his solitary adventures in Going it Alone tells us why he enjoys and sometimes fears his solitude as he hikes the John Muir Trail, Tahoe Rim Trail and Superior Hiking Trail.
Monsters in the Woods is a guidebook for parents to use when taking their children hiking and backpacking. It tells parents how to prepare, how far to go, who carries what and gives them safety precautions.
Join us for this fun and informative author event with Tim Hauserman this Friday, June 20 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Browsers Corner Book Store. The store is located at 711 E. Washington Street in Carson City, directly across the street from the library parking lot. For more information contact bookstoremanager2022@gmail.com.
