A 50 year-old Carson City man was taken into custody early Saturday morning at 1:36 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street for multiple misdemeanor counts, a Carson City Sheriff’s deputy said, including assault, battery and breach of peace.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to a downtown gaming business on report of a fight in progress involving three males. The suspect reportedly approach two other men playing at a craps table.

A verbal altercation ensued and the suspect reportedly threatened one of the other men, the report said, moving toward him and getting in his face.

The suspect then reportedly swung at and attempted to punch one man, while connecting to the other’s face with his fist, the report said. The second man had a visible abrasion to his upper lip and a bloody nose.

After the second man head-butted the suspect in the face, the latter fled to another part of the establishment where he was detained by on site security.

The responding deputy made contact with the suspect and noted he was highly intoxicated, smelling of strongly of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, and exhibited slurred speech, the report said.

When asked by the deputy what had happened, the suspect began yelling and declined to speak with law enforcement, the report said. As the deputy attempted to take the suspect into custody, he tensed up and began yelling again at the officer. He was placed in an arm lock, the report said, and fitted with hand cuffs.

He was then transported to the Carson City Jail and booked. Bail: $1,000.

— A 36 year-old Carson City Jail inmate arrested Friday afternoon at 2:45 p.m. on an outstanding felony fugitive from justice warrant issued out of Yolo County, California, a Carson City Sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, Brian Ball was already in the custody of the Carson City Jail on local charges when detention staff was contacted by dispatch, confirming the active fugitive warrant. Bail: $35,000.

— A 33 year-old Carson City man was arrested late Friday night at 10:45 p.m. at the Carson City Jail on a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence bench warrant issued out of the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the report, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office delivered the suspect to the Carson City Jail after picking him up on the active bench warrant. Bail: $1,000.
