Nevada Day Inc. is thrilled to announce an exciting new addition to Carson City’s Fourth of July festivities — a Youth Soap Box Derby joining the already highly anticipated Freedom Cruise America 250 celebration on Saturday, July 4, 2026. This is your family’s chance to be part of a truly unforgettable Independence Day in the heart of Nevada’s capital city.
At 11:00 a.m. Freedom Cruise America 250 — a spectacular patriotic procession of classic cars, custom vehicles, motorcycles, and community entries rolling through Carson City in honor of America’s historic 250th Birthday. Then, the excitement continues at 2:00 p.m. when young racers take the wheel at the all-new Youth Soap Box Derby, held in the Galaxy Theatres parking lot with generous support from Carson City Casino Fandango.
Kids Ages 6–13 — It’s Your Time to Race!
The Youth Soap Box Derby is a gravity-powered competition open to participants ages 6–13, designed to spark creativity, community pride, and pure Fourth of July fun. Whether your child is a first-time builder or a budding engineer, this is the perfect opportunity to get hands-on, show off their patriotic spirit, and race for glory in front of family and friends.

A limited supply of Soap Box Derby car-building kits are available for pickup while supplies last at the RE/MAX Professionals – The Bartshe Group office in Carson City and at the Nevada Day Gift Shop. Families are encouraged to grab a kit as soon as possible and start building — these won’t last long!
