Hundreds of Carson City students and families, school officials, trustees, commissioners and community partners gathered at the Casino Fandango on Thursday night to celebrate student attendance achievements during Mayor Lori Bagwell’s “Attendance Hall of Fame” awards ceremony.
The communitywide initiative honored students who demonstrated perfect, improved or consistent attendance throughout the school year, recognizing the important role daily attendance plays in academic success and future opportunities.

Created to promote positive habits and strengthen student engagement, the Attendance Hall of Fame campaign continues to highlight the message that showing up to school on time every day helps build the foundation for lifelong success both inside and outside the classroom.

Thanks to partnerships with more than 30 local businesses, including Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU), Carson City Toyota, Glen Eagles Restaurant, Max Casino, Chick-Fil-A, Grocery Outlet, Waste Management and many more, the celebration featured exciting rewards. Mayor Bagwell and community sponsors donated a total of 50 $125 gift cards and other goodies to qualifying students.

Because numerous students met the specified criteria, the prize-winning students were selected by school site through raffle drawings. All winners were invited to attend the evening celebrations with their parents and enjoy food and fun before receiving their rewards.
