If you’re a Nevadan who has made plans with the state to get an appliance rebate, you have until June 15 to mail in your applications.
The Nevada State Office of Energy has extended the deadline, originally four weeks from the reservation date, to June 15 to ensure participants have enough time to complete the rebate process.
“The overwhelming response we received resulted in some retailers having to schedule deliveries out two to three weeks,” NSOE Project Manager Catherine Gowen. “We still want to encourage people to get their rebates in as soon as possible.”
The energy office has, so far, handed out 15,497 reservations for the program that awards participants up to $200 for replacing an old appliance with an Energy Star model. Refrigerators, worth a rebate of $200, has been the most popular reservation category at 5,944, followed by dishwashers, $100, rebates at 4,527, clothes washers, $150 with 4,125, and freezers, $150, at 901.
In addition, there is still plenty of room for consumers to get on the waiting list by calling 1- 877-273-6213 or at www.nevadaappliancerebate.com.
“Once participants get a waiting list confirmation, they can purchase their appliance and send in their paperwork,” Gowen added. “When the waiting list rebates are released, those on the waiting list will receive their rebates based on when their paperwork was received, not on when they actually got on the list.”
