On Friday the National Weather service upgraded their previously issued fire weather watch warning for the Eastern Sierra front to a red flag warning, from Saturday at 11 a.m. through Sunday to 11 p.m.
Gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph are forecasted with gusts of up to 50 mph in wind prone areas, low humidity, high temps, and a chance of isolated dry thunderstorms; this combination can causes fire to rapidly grow in size and intensity.
The public is urged to exercise caution and avoid outdoor activity near dry vegetation that could cause a spark such as yard work, campfires, and target shooting.
