Carson City deputies arrested 66-year-old Lori Martin Thursday for felony battery with a deadly weapon after allegedly arriving home upset and throwing a variety of items at a family member.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Eureka Drive after receiving a call from a family member that Martin was throwing glass objects at a man, causing bodily injury.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact outside of the residence with Martin who allegedly told them: “I did it, just put me in handcuffs and take me to jail,” according to the report. She stated she punched the victim, “and it felt good.”

Martin said that earlier in the day there had been a verbal altercation between her, a family member, and the victim, but it ended when Martin left the residence for work.

She said she became upset when she got home from work because the victim’s car was parked in the shared driveway. She left again and went to a casino where she had three glasses of wine.

After returning home again, she said the family member and victim were asleep, but later the victim woke up and they began arguing.

Martin said she was upset by how the victim was treating her recently, and she’d been trying to get the victim evicted from the residence due to the hostile living environment.

On speaking with the family member who witnessed the events, they told deputies when Martin arrived home, she started screaming at the family member and the victim who were both asleep at the time.

This led to a verbal altercation between Martin and the victim, and the family member said they stepped between to try and separate them.

The victim took out his phone to record Martin, which “aggravated her more” according to the report, at which point she began to throw items including: a tin vase, an air fryer basket, a wicker basket, and various glassware.

Martin hit the victim in the head with the vase multiple times, and threw other times at him, causing him to feel “light-headed, dizzy, and like he was going to pass out” according to the report.

The victim had visible injuries including cuts and bruises to his face and neck according to the report, and he was transported to the hospital.

The tin metal vase, air fryer basket, a wicker basket, were booked into evidence.

A 29-year-old Yerington man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and a bench warrant out of Carson City Justice Court early Friday morning.

Just before 2 a.m. on Friday morning, deputies were dispatched to a casino in the 2800 block of S Carson Street on report of an unwanted subject.

According to the report, dispatch advised two men were loitering inside the casino and one was being aggressive towards staff. The reporting party also advised one might have drugs.
