A 29-year-old Carson City man who had been released from prison in Lovelock was booked into Carson City Jail Tuesday on a felony warrant in connection to an early morning February 2013 pedestrian hit and run crash on William Street in which a Carson City contractor died.
John Raymond Gelien was then released Tuesday on $50,000 bail, according to a Carson City jail deputy.
His arrest stems from an incident that happened at around 6:30 a.m. Feb. 8, 2013 in which the 46-year-old victim, John Randall Boggs of Carson City, was struck and killed by a vehicle as he was crossing William Street near Mills Park. The vehicle, allegedly driven by Gelien, then sped away.
Gelien had been in prison at Lovelock serving time for an unrelated conviction. He was released from prison where he was brought to Carson City jail for booking on the Category B felony warrant for his arrest.
