A minor fender bender accident happened at around 12:15 p.m. today on North Carson Street where a pedestrian was crossing the road in the crosswalk.

The pedestrian and the vehicle drivers were not injured. The crosswalk, across from Grocery Outlet, is where the Carson City Sheriff’s Office has staged numerous safety operations, hoping to get vehicles to watch for pedestrians. On April 28, 23 citations were issued to motorists who didn’t stop for pedestrians.

The accident happened in the southbound lane. Both vehicles moved to the Grocery Outlet parking lot to exchange information with deputies.
