Ildemaro Vargas picked up where he left off for the Reno Aces – playing Saturday night as Los Corazones de Reno – but a comeback fell just short as the Salt Lake Bees won, 8-7.
Earlier in the day, Vargas was optioned back to Triple-A Reno from the Arizona Diamondbacks. He made his Aces debut on Copa de la Diversión night at Greater Nevada Field. Vargas was a home run shy of the cycle in his first game back with Reno since Sept. 3 of last season.
