Here is the Carson City area road report for the week of May 2-8, 2016: Work will continue on the Downtown Corridor improvement project on Carson Street. The following roads will be impacted:

— North Carson Street will remain one lane in each direction.
— Sophia, Ann and Washington to the west of Carson St. will be closed to Curry.
— Proctor and Telegraph to the East of Carson St. will be closed.
— Musser to the west of Carson may have delays.
— Fourth and 5th Street to the west of Carson St. will be closed.
— All other side streets will be open.

Parking available west on Curry or east on Plaza. Days of closures subject to change due to weather. Downtown businesses are open during construction. Lane closures with flagger controlled traffic at the following locations due to utility/road work from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.:

— Center Drive near the Topsy Lane and Center Drive intersection, Monday through Friday
— Jefferson Drive and Madison Court, Monday through Friday
— Fleischmann Way between Division and Mountain Streets, Monday through Friday
— Curry Street between Washoe Drive and Koontz Lane, Monday
— Portions of Monte Rosa Drive, Stanton Drive, Ladera Drive, Siskiyou Drive, Florentine Drive, Shriver Drive, near Empire Elementary school, Monday-Thursday

Road closures expected at the following locations due to utility/road work please follow detours:
— Division Street between Fleischmann Way and Long Street, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
— Topsy Lane between Center Drive and U.S. 395, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, local traffic only
— Race Track Road between Bigelow Drive and Schulz Way, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, local traffic only
— Bigelow Drive south of Race Track Drive, Monday through Sunday, for all hours, local traffic only

U.S. 395, north of Stephanie Lane at Cradlebaugh Bridge, will be reduced to one lane in each direction at certain times. No traffic controls for northbound traffic between 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. or for southbound traffic between 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. until May 13.

Northbound U.S. 395 lanes between Clear Creek Avenue and Snyder Avenue will be reduced from three to two until May 13.

Periodic, nighttime, lane and ramp closures will take place on southbound I-580 and alternate U.S. 395 in southern Washoe Valley throughout the summer, includes northbound and southbound ramp closures for Bellevue Bridge and southbound ramp closures south of Eastlake Boulevard.

Around Lake Tahoe and the Sierra, Caltrans reports the following road work for the week of May 1-7, 2016:
State Route 89 (Placer County): Work has resumed on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to just north of Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected by spring 2017.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Trout Street to Cherry Street and Ward Creek to Tahoe Tavern Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations around the clock from 10 p.m. Sunday until noon Friday for drainage and curb, gutter and sidewalk work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on an $8 million project from Meeks Creek to Wilson Avenue in Tahoma, installing curb and gutter and drainage systems to collect and treat stormwater. The highway is also being resurfaced. The project will be completed this spring.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Meeks Creek to Wilson Avenue: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday for pavement work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work has begun on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to just north of the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay. The project will construct new drainage facilities to treat stormwater runoff and repave a four-mile section of the highway. Completion is expected in fall 2017.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Cascade Creek: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday for pavement work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work has resumed on a $25 million project from the “Y” junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks will be added in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side. Drainage systems are also being built and the roadway is being resurfaced. Completion is expected this fall.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 5th Street to 12th Street: Southbound motorists can expect the #2 lane and shoulder closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for shoulder work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from Pope Beach Road to Fallen Leaf Lake Road around the clock from midnight Monday to 11 a.m. Friday for shoulder work.

State Route 28 (Placer County): Work has resumed on Placer County’s “Core of the Core” phase of the $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. Highway work includes installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from the junction with State Route 267 to Beaver Street: Motorists can expect the No. 1 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday for utility work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from the junction with State Route 89 to Lardin Way: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for crack sealing work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Lake Forest Road East to Beaver Street in Kings Beach: Motorists can expect intermittent full highway closures at various locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for survey work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Jeffrey Lane to Center Street: Eastbound motorists can expect shoulder and auxiliary lane closures from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday for utility work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Anderson Road to the junction with State Route 267 in Kings Beach: Motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday through Friday for survey work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) at Missouri Flat Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday for utility work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Carson Road to Smith Flat Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the No. 1 lane closed from 5 p.m. to noon Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday for drainage work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Camino Heights Drive to Carson Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday for guardrail repair.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from the PG&E canal to Bullion Bend Road: Westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday for tree work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from the Eagle Rock picnic area to 36 Mile Stone Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the # lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for drainage work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Upper Truckee Road North to Kyburz Avenue: Motorists can expect intermittent full highway closures at various locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for survey work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from the “Y” intersection with State Route 89 in South Lake Tahoe to Stateline Avenue: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and Tuesday for pavement work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Scenic Drive to Rubicon Glen Drive: Motorists can expect intermittent full highway closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for survey work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Wilson Avenue to Tahoe Tavern Road South: Motorists can expect intermittent full highway closures at various locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for survey work.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at Rock Creek Road: Motorists can expect long-term signalized one-way traffic control for emergency repair work, which is scheduled to be completed by July.

State Route 267 (Placer County) from Brockway Summit to Cambridge/Lincoln Green Drive: Motorists can expect intermittent full highway closures at various locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for survey work.
