In recognition of Historic Preservation and Archeological Awareness Month, the Carson City City Historic Resources Commission has organized the 2025 Scavenger Hunt.

This year’s hunt focuses on front entries, including porches and entry doors, along with sidewalks and transportation features that are unique to the Carson City Historic District.

A copy of the 2025 Scavenger Hunt can be obtained starting May 1, at 108 E. Proctor St. or at carson.org/scavengerhunt.

Completed answers are due by 3 p.m., May 30.  Answers may be submitted in person at 108 E. Proctor St., online, or emailed to planning@carson.org.  For the 7th year in a row, Jim Phalan of Fox Brewpub is donating a gift card to the person whose hunt is randomly drawn from correct entries.

Also, at the Board of Supervisor meeting on May 1, the 2025 Historic Preservation Award will be presented, recognizing Jed Block for his long-term commitment, knowledge, and outstanding contributions to Carson City’s Historic Preservation and Robertine Benson recognizing her contributions, including the preservation of the “Mattie Ferris-Schulz House,” located at 402 S. Division St.
