An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday for suspicion of DUI, obstructing, resisting and minor consuming alcohol, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report.
At 6:39 a.m. a deputy was dispatched to the 2700 block of Highway 50 East regarding a suspicious vehicle. Dispatch advised the reporting party had arrived and observed a beige sedan parked over a curb with the lights still on.
Dispatch also advised the reporting party reviewed security cameras and saw the vehicle arrive at approximately 4;15 a.m. The driver drove into the building, urinated in the parking lot, got back into the car and attempted to reverse. The reporting party stated the driver was still in the driver’s seat.
Deputies arrived and identified the man, who was sleeping in the front seat. The seat was upright and the vehicle was running. A deputy knocked on the window and the man woke up, the report states.
He then moved his hands to his waistband and reached around the center console. He then moved his hands to the small of his back. A deputy drew their firearm and gave the man verbal commands to show his hands. The man continued reaching around his waistband and not listening to verbal commands. The man then began hitting his head against the driver-side window, the report states.
Deputies watched the man and over the loudspeaker gave him verbal commands, which he eventually followed. The man stepped out of his car and he was placed into handcuffs. As he was being escorted to the patrol vehicle, a deputy could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from his person. The deputy asked who the vehicle belonged to. He said it belonged to a rental company, the report states. He then told the deputy the car belonged to his boss.
The deputy then asked if he would submit to standardized field sobriety tests. He said no. He was then read the request for evidentiary testing. The man told the deputy he would submit to a breath test. He was arrested and taken to jail. He provided two evidentiary breath samples with results of .128 and .138. Bail: $1,137.
In other arrests:
— A 25-year-old man, Thomas Karol, listed as a transient, was arrested April 26 for a felony probation violation warrant, an outside agency felony warrant, misdemeanor destruction of property and obstructing/resisting.
According to the booking report, at around 12:50 p.m. Saturday, a deputy made contact with a male associated with an unregistered vehicle in the parking lot of a casino at Winnie and North Carson. The deputy observed two other males get out of Subaru behind the red Dodge Durango.
The deputy asked to see the identification of the males, which one provided immediately, however, the second male stated he did not have any form of identified. The deputy asked the male to provide his name, which he consented to. The male gave a name and as soon as said it, he turned away and began to run.
A foot pursuit of the man ensued, where other patrol units created a perimeter around the area. The deputy pursued the man on foot through the parking lot of the casino, through Winnie Lane and down an alley behind a fast food restaurant near storage units off Sage Street, the report states.
A deputy observed a broken fence in the 200 block of Sage Street and provided a description of the man, which led a sergeant to locate him in the parking lot of 2621 Northgate. The man, Thomas Karol, was arrested for destruction of property and obstructing/resisting.
Deputies were advised by the owner of the Sage Street property that the fence was broken and also that they wanted to press charges for damage. Video footage verified Karol had ran through the fence. No bail hold in lieu of hearing for the felony warrant and felony probation violation warrant.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 26 for suspicion of DUI second and failure to maintain lane.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to a casino on South Carson Street. Dispatch advised that Carson City Fire Department was responding to a physically combative subject.
Dispatch also advised the man had pushed the reporting party and was trying to get into their car to leave. Dispatch later advised the subject was driving away and provided a description. As dispatch relayed this information, a deputy was turning onto Sonoma Street from South Carson Street and observed the suspect vehicle exit the parking lot with two unidentified individuals pointing at the white car as it drove past the casino, the report states.
The deputy began to follow the vehicle, and observed it used over three-quarters of the roadway to make a right-hand turn. The vehicle then stopped at the Sonoma Street and Silver Sage Drive stop sign and completed a left hand turn onto Silver Sage.
The car then crossed the center lines into the southbound lanes and came to a stop along the sidewalk of the southbound lanes. The vehicle then got back up to speed and came across the northbound lanes going north. The deputy activated their overhead lights and the vehicle abruptly stopped on Silver Sage Drive between Sonoma and Nona Drive, the report states.
The deputy made contact with the driver, who rolled down their window. The man had red, watery eyes and a strong odor of alcohol was coming from his breath. The deputy asked the man if he had been drinking. He said he had not but had heavy slurred speech. The deputy asked for his driver’s license, registration and insurance.
The man pulled out three credit cards from his wallet before going into the center console to pull out his license. He then gave the deputy a stack of papers such as his registration and insurance, in an envelope. The deputy asked the man to turn off the vehicle and step outside. When the man opened his door he nearly fell out of the vehicle, the report states. The deputy closed his door and helped him to the sidewalk.
The man agreed to standardized field sobriety tests. He did not know where he was and said it was 2 p.m. and then corrected it to 2 a.m. The time was 10:43 p.m. The man stated he last ate eight hour prior and had four beers. He showed signs of impairment on the tests. He was arrested and read the request for voluntary evidence. He stated he would consent to a blood test.
The deputy located four empty bottles of 99-cent vodka shots. He was taken to the hospital for medical clearance and submitted to a series of evidentiary blood draws. He was booked for DUI second (prior conviction on Dec. 4, 2023 out of Washoe County.) Bail: $2,500.

— A 52-year-old Wellington woman, Nigra Nicole, was arrested April 26 for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 50-year-old Carson City woman, Ciara Ann Smith, was arrested for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance (3.62 grams of methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. A 60-year-old man was also arrested for misdemeanor obstructing.
— A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, April 27 for suspicion of driving with a suspended Nevada driver’s license and suspended registration. Bail: $640.
— A 53-year-old man was arrested April 25 for a misdemeanor bench warrant issued April 22 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500 cash.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 25 for a misdemeanor Department of Alternative Sentencing violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,000 cash.
— A 37-year-old Carson City man, Ryan Laclair, was arrested April 25, 2025 for a felony outside agency warrant. Bail: $2,500.
— A 26-year-old Sparks man, Zachary Roark, was arrested April 25 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (3.74 grams of methamphetamine) and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 35-year-old Dayton man, Nathan Winter, was arrested April 25 for a felony warrant. Bail: $2,500.
— A 27-year-old Dayton man, Matthew Whyte, was arrested April 25 for a felony warrant. Bail: $2,500.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 25 for suspicion of misdemeanor driving with a suspended license. Bail: $500.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man, Victor Delfin Carillo, was arrested April 25 for suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. Bail: $2,500 and $490 cash for the warrant.
— A 33-year-old Carson City man, Matthew Ryan Patellos, was arrested April 25 for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, second offense and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and ex-felon failure to register. Bail: $5,000.
— Two women, Kimberly Shell and Amanda Garduna, listed as transients, were arrested April 25 in then 2800 block of Highway 50 East for suspicion of felony possession of heroin and methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,500.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested April 26 for suspicion of violation of a suspended sentence through the Department of Alternative Sentencing. The man was in possession of marijuana, a violation of conditions of alternative sentencing. Bail: $1,000 cash.
