Carson City Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were called tonight to the area of Hobby Horse and Golden Eagle in southeast Carson City after a vehicle flipped and plunged 45 yards down a steep embankment into the Carson River. All occupants are out and are said to have minor injuries, mainly cuts and bruises.
The call came into dispatch at around 7 p.m. of a vehicle, initially reported as a two-door blue sports car, that flipped into the river. The occupants were helped by passersby, according to dispatch, as emergency crews responded to the scene.
A tow truck company has been called to the scene, where the vehicle will be recovered. A sheriff’s deputy on scene noted the car plunged down an embankment and is resting in the river. Carson City Environmental Health has also been notified.
