Mother Nature could not have picked a better weekend for sunshine and warm temperatures in the Nevada state capital as Carson City celebrated Earth Day with a garden festival Sunday at the historic Foreman-Roberts House, 1207 North Carson Street.

Hosted by the Carson City Historical Society, the Earth Day Garden Festival brought local garden clubs together in one event, replacing the traditional garden tour.

The Earth Day Garden Festival runs until 4 p.m. Sunday.
