The Pay it Forward Project would like to recognize Monday, April 20 as a special day and remind our community that it is National Volunteer Appreciation Day which is part of part of Volunteer appreciation week and falls this year on the week of April 19–25, 2026.
Carson City and the Carson Valley communities are so fortunate to have so many organizations that make our communities a special place to live. Community nonprofits and volunteer-based foundations that are dedicated to improving our schools our parks and many aspects of our community’s success.
This makes all of our lives better and helps those in need as well as improves opportunities available for our youth. This could not be done with out the commitment and hard work from so many who volunteer their time to make a big difference in reaching out and participating in community projects and assisting those in need.
So today we encourage everyone to reach out and thank a volunteer especially those community organizations that depend on volunteers to help accomplish the important work they get done.
We also encourage everyone to get out this summer a volunteer for a couple of hours in helping some of our great organizations that make a positive difference for all of us.
