Carson City Public Works
Carson City’s annual main flushing program is continuing this week, and is expected be completed next week. Flushing operations will take place Tuesday through Thursday of this week in the Stanton Park area north of Butti Way, south of Highway 50, east of the freeway and west of Fairview Drive.
We have notified residents who have registered for our reverse 911 system in the potentially affected areas.
We’d like to let folks know that there is potential for temporary periods discolored water in the aforementioned areas.
The discoloration is caused by naturally occurring minerals which accumulate in the water system; it is not harmful. Residents should avoid washing light colored laundry if the water is discolored. Any discoloration is expected to clear up within several hours. If they have any questions or concerns, people can call us at 887-2355.
We also always like to remind people that they can go to www.carson.org/alerts to register for the Code Red service. This system allows us to contact targeted areas of the City to provide infrequent informational notifications as well as to provide emergency information which requires immediate action. This is especially important for residents without land lines.
