Happy Easter, Carson City. You’ll find all the egg hunts and brunches on a special everything Easter list HERE. Before the rain returns, grab a moment in the sun. A bike ride with Muscle Powered stretches your legs, Community Yoga at Comma Coffee stretches it all.

Easter SUNDAY:

  • — Easter Morning Sunrise Service at the Capitol Grounds Amphitheater (7:30am; sponsored by C5 Church)
  • — Breakfast and Bowling at Carson Lanes (breakfast served 7:30am -11am, unlimited bowling 9am-12pm; $13, $8 kids 8 and younger)
  • — Annual High School Rodeo at the Douglas County Fairgrounds: 2 miles down Pinenut Rd, Gardnerville (competition begins 8am; sponsored by the Douglas-Carson Rodeo Club)
  • — Celebrate Easter and McKeen Motor Car Rides at the Nevada State Railroad Museum (9am-4pm; free hand car rides 12pm-1pm; McKeen Motor Car rides 1pm-4pm, $8/$4 kids 4-11 and members; egg hunt, building candy trains; coloring sheets; story time with children’s book author Calamity Jan; and other surprises; museum admission $6 adults, children under 18 free)
  • — CC BMX Racing and Easter Egg Hunt at the Livermore (Edmonds) Sports Complex: 1555 Livermore Lane (sign-ups 9am-10am; $10, must be USABMX member; new rider kits available; If running late, call/text 775-220-7111)
  • — Muscle Powered Weekly Bike Ride – Meet in the south parking lot of Fremont Elementary School, next to the Linear Ditch Trail (meet at 9am; consists of two loops 10-15 miles long each, this will allow a rider to do 10-15 miles or 20-30 miles; ride pace will vary depending on rider level, but usually about 12-16 mph; All riders must have a bicycle in safe working condition, helmet, and closed toed shoes.   • — Community Yoga with Allison Reitz at Comma Coffee (9am-10am; $10 cash only; beginners are welcome; Bring your mind, body, and mat; a limited number of extra mats will be available)
  • — Spring Fling Family Friendly Fun Day at the Capitol City Gun Club: 3590 Arrowhead (9am-5:30pm; free hot dogs for paid shooters 11:30am-1:30pm; trap/skeet/clays specials; open to members and non-members)
  • — ’Spring has Sprung’ Art Show in the Nevada Artists Association Gallery at the Brewery Arts Center (10am-4pm)
  • — Kids Eat Free at the (Firkin and) Fox Brewpub (11am-10pm; with purchase of adult entree)
  • — Weekly Pool Tournament at Whiskey Tavern (register 1pm; 2pm start; $10 per person)
  • — Pool Tournament at Remedy’s (2pm-5pm; $5 buy-in; APA Rules)
  • — Easter Sunday Party at Carson Cigar Co. AKA the Cigar Bar (3pm-close; food, fun and games; 21+)
  • — Easter Vigil for Peace at the Nevada State Capitol (5pm)
  • — Live Music with Justin McMahon in the Carson Valley Inn Cabaret, Minden (6pm-10pm)
