Starting Monday and continuing through April 29, 2025, the Carson City Public Works Water Division will be starting up and testing wells in anticipation of increased water demand.
In a systematic approach to improve water quality, the Water Division may be flushing the water mains in the following areas: Stanton Park, Eagle Valley Middle School, Buzzy’s Ranch Road, Carson River Road, River Knolls Subdivision, Empire Ranch, Airport Road Area, Schulz Ranch.
PLEASE NOTE: The week prior to flushing, residents in the above-listed areas will be notified by phone via the!CARSON Emergency Notification System. We encourage you to sign up for !CARSON at www.carson.org/alert.
During this process, sediment collected on the bottom of the water mains may be stirred up, causing discolored water. The sediment in the water is the result of the minerals that have settled to the bottom of the water mains during the year; it is not harmful. This discolored water may stain light-colored clothing; please check the water in your washing machine prior to doing laundry to be sure it is running clear. You may experience intermittent low water pressure or no pressure during this time.
Please allow 4-6 hours upon completion of flushing for the water to clear up. If, after this time, it has not cleared, please contact the Water Division at (775) 887-2355.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
