The next Carson City School Board meeting will take place Tuesday, April 8, 2025 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Bob Crowell Board Room of the Community Center located at 851 E. William St.
Prior to the school board meeting officially beginning, the board will hold a workshop beginning at 5:30 p.m. to discuss student discipline policies, including bullying and cyber-bullying, as outlined in the CCSD Plan for Restorative Discipline.
A recognition will be given to Chief Nurse Sheila Story, who was named the 2025 Nevada State Association of School Nurses (NSASN) School Nurse Administrator of the Year.
Carson High School student council members Teneya Cramer, Carolina Gabica, Kyle Allen, and Leah Vazquez will provide an informational update on the school’s role as host of the 2026 Nevada Association of Student Councils (NASC) State Conference.
Superintendent Andrew Feuling will provide a Nevada Legislative Update to the board and report on any items of interest relating to education this session.
An annual report from Carson High School will be presented regarding student programs, support systems, and campus celebrations.
An informational presentation will be given on the Western Nevada College (WNC) Jump Start Program, which allows high school students to earn college credit.
The tentative budget for the Carson City School District for fiscal year 2025-2026 will be presented and discussed.
The consent agenda includes approval of certified staff hiring decisions, purchase orders, student vaccine exemptions, and the meeting minutes from March 11 and March 25, 2025.
Activities and Events:
Pre-K, Kindergarten, New and Returning Student Updates and Registration is open to families. Parents can visit their child’s respective school from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. and provide the following required information at the time of registration:
- Birth Certificate and Immunization Record
- Must be 5 years of age on or before August 1, 2025
- Proof of residency in Carson City
Wednesday, April 9, 2025, Professional Learning for staff; students dismiss at the following times:
- Pre-K – 10:55 a.m.
- High Schools – 11:40 a.m.
- Middle Schools – 12 p.m.
- Elementary Schools – 12:40 p.m.
Spring Break will take place April 14–21, 2025; classes resume on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
