By Liz Cain — Step back in time with the Carson City Historical Society (CCHS), which will be warmly welcoming visitors this Sunday, April 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. You’ll find us at 1207 North Carson Street in Carson City, where our two cheerful yellow buildings — the Foreman-Roberts House Museum and the Carriage House — stand as graceful reminders of a bygone era.
Begin your visit at the Carriage House, the inviting yellow structure with double doors just east of the main house. There, you’ll discover engaging exhibits and selections from our permanent collection. A museum docent will then guide you next door to the historic Foreman-Roberts House, where you’ll be transported to early Carson City through the charm and character of one of its oldest residences.
Currently featured are two special exhibits: The Foreman and Roberts Families and Trains of Northern Nevada, each offering a unique glimpse into the region’s rich heritage.
Should you wish to reach out ahead of your visit, feel free to email us at carsoncityhistoricalsociety@gmail.com or call 775-315-9111. Convenient parking is available on Corbett and Rice Streets. For more about our work and upcoming events, please visit CCHistorical.org.
We look forward to sharing a piece of Carson City’s history with you!
