Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a crash Wednesday afternoon on I-580 southbound around 1/4 of a mile south of Galena Creek bridge. Traffic was reduced to one lane.

The incident happened at around 1:15 p.m. No injuries are reported. Motorists can expect delays.

It has been raining off and on between Carson City and Reno since this morning. NHP advises to be prepared for a longer drive if you are traveling. Slow down, increase your following distance and watch out for standing water that could cause hydroplaning.

A wet storm pattern will continue through Thursday. The weather services says rain amounts have already been observed in the Sierra with reports up to around 2 inches so far. Additional rain accumulations of up to 2-4 inches are expected through Thursday night.

Snow levels are expected to remain high through Thursday afternoon and are expected to fall into Friday.
