A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation after allegedly grabbing his girlfriend by the throat, holding her to the point where the woman thought she was going to die, according to a Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect was arrested at 4:35 p.m. in the 3300 block of South Carson Street with bail set at $15,352. UPDATE: The charges were later reduced to a misdemeanor.
