UPDATE 6:47AM: The suspect vehicle with California license plates and extensive front end damage has been found in a parking lot in the 1800 block of North Carson Street. Carson City sheriff’s deputies are still looking for the driver.

UPDATE: 627AM: Both lanes of travel along North Carson Street are now open, said Carson City Sheriff’s Office Watch Commander John Hitch. The vehicle involved in the single vehicle crash is believed to be a white truck with extensive front end and grill damage.

A portion of North Carson Street is closed this Sunday morning from Bath to Winnie after a vehicle struck a power pole, knocking it down in both lanes of traffic.
NV Energy has responded and road crews are trying to clean up debris left behind. Dispatch received a call at 3:41 a.m. regarding the pole and power lines in the road. Meanwhile, Carson City sheriff’s deputies have been looking for the suspect vehicle, said to be a white SUV with a missing front end grill.

Traffic in both directions is being diverted onto side streets, from Nevada and Division Street to Roop Street.
