Carson City area casinos saw a slight increase in January gaming revenue, nearly 1 percent, while statewide gaming revenue decreased 2.87 percent, according to figures released Friday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Casinos in Carson City, Gardnerville, Minden and other areas of Douglas County except for Stateline saw gaming revenue of $7,595,856 for the month, up .93 percent over January 2015 figures.

Elsewhere, casinos at North Lake Tahoe saw a 22.35 percent gaming revenue increase, while casinos at South Shore Lake Tahoe increased by 9.22 percent.
