Two Carson City women were arrested Saturday afternoon on felony drug trafficking charges after 28 grams of methamphetamine was discovered in a vehicle, a Carson City sheriff’s sergeant said.
Gabriella Fountas, 20, and Kaitlin Wutch, 25, were arrested at 3:53 p.m. in the 1800 block of East Long Street. Officers made a traffic stop on a black Chevy Tahoe that had suspended license plates, said CCSO Special Enforcement Team Sgt. Daniel Gonzales.
The driver, Fountas, did not have a valid license. A canine was used to sniff the exterior of the vehicle and it came back positive for drugs. A search of the vehicle netted approximately 28 grams of methamphetamine. Both women, who were cooperative in the investigation, were arrested on suspicion of level three drug trafficking with bail amounts of $250,000 each.
