Early Saturday morning, Carson Street was briefly closed by multiple fire crews and sheriff’s office deputies during an investigation of a possible gas leak.
Crews investigated the gas leak at the businesses of Carson Street and Third Street, which include Mom and Pop’s Diner, Piazza, and more.
An investigation into a gas leak was confirmed by Fire Chief Scott Baker Saturday morning, who stated that no gas leak was found at Mom and Pop’s Diner after a thorough investigation.
A passerby had reported smelling gas coming from Mom and Pop’s and called dispatch, leading to the response and investigation.
