UPDATE 3:30 pm: The Quad County Hazmat Team made entry into the structure utilizing Class A hazmat suits. This incident has been determined to not be of environmental concern. No injuries were reported during this incident. The property will be turned over to the property manager and a contracted hazardous material clean-up crew at approximately 5 pm tonight.

The Douglas County East Fork Fire District responded at 10:07 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a hazardous material spill at 1180 Angela Court, Minden. Upon arrival fire personnel located unknown hazardous materials inside an abandoned warehouse.
East Fork Fire requested assistance from the Quad County Hazmat Team, Which comprises of Carson City Fire, Storey County Fire, Lyon County Fire and Douglas County.
During the initial assessment, fire crews located two different types of acid. Crews are taking precautionary measures to insure that no continuing leaks from the containers inside the building.
Several surrounding businesses have been evacuated and Nowlin Road has been closed at this time, until further notice. Crews anticipate being on scene for several hours. Clean up of the site is being coordinated within the response of the Quad County Hazmat Team.
No injuries or exposures to personnel at this time.
