A 66-year-old transient man was arrested at the Carson Mall Tuesday afternoon after harassing customers and staff members.

Deputies were dispatched to the mall on the report of a trespasser who was known to both deputies and mall staff. He had been trespassed numerous times previously, and received a citation less than a week prior at the mall for trespassing.

According to the report, the man has “generated dozens upon dozens of 9-1-1 calls and complains over the last six months,” from causing disturbances, yelling at people, trespassing, blocking traffic, or being passed out drunk in public.

He was confirmed to have been trespassed from the mall several times, the report states.

When deputies arrived on Tuesday, it was reported the man was inside the mall near the old Boot Barn space, yelling at customers and cursing. Deputies located the man outside of the former Boot Barn space in the parking lot.

As soon as deputies exited their vehicle, they heard the man hurling slurs and insults at an employee.

Deputies told the man he was being arrested for trespassing, and he said he understood and would cooperate. He was taken to the Carson City Jail and booked without incident.
